This was a self-driven final project combining all material covered in GEOG 370, including cartographic design principles, generalization, map projections, data collection and analysis, ArcGIS Pro, and Adobe Illustrator. I decided to map the "best locations" for a young adult moving to Manhattan based on (1) which census tracts they would find the most people similar in age, and (2) which census tracts they would find the most other new residents. I collected population data from the U.S. Census Bureau and performed a few calculations to achieve a final "suitability" choropleth map by census tract. One caveat of this map is that I did not consider cost of living -- Manhattan is notoriously expensive. Overall though, I am very pleased with how it turned out.
